REGENERATIVE MEDICINE - MODULE 5: FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE

This course will introduce you in the complex world of translating Regenerative Medicine 'From Bench to Bedside'. You will in an interactive way learn about the ins and outs of the translation of laboratory findings, via animal in vivo models and clinical trials, to the final clinical application. The course deals with the ‘challenges and choices’, with the ‘do’s and don’ts’, you will encounter on the road that leads you to success (or failure) in Regenerative Medicine.
After an introduction in the fundamental challenges like vascularization, inflammation, and genetic modulation on the first day, you will get acquainted with laboratory approaches and animal models during the following two days. The fourth day will be dedicated to clinical trials, in which ethical, financial, safety and legal issues become critical. The course will close with issues on the acceptation of Regenerative Medicine solutions by both the professional community and society at large.
